One of our associates, Darren Berg, focuses his practice in the area of defense litigation and appellate work. Prior to joining the firm, Darren served as a Law Clerk to the United States District Judge J. Daniel Breen in the Western District of Tennessee at Memphis. Additionally upon graduation from the University of Tennessee College of Law, Mr. Berg served for two years as the Senior Law Clerk to Judge Joseph M. Tipton, Presiding Judge of the Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals.
Mr. Berg’s experience in serving these distinguished jurists is invaluable as he is uniquely positioned to understand the inner-workings of Tennessee’s federal and state courts, including the decision making processes of our state’s judicial officers. He also was able to hone his legal research and writing skills during this period.
In his time with the firm, Darren has achieved successful results for many clients, including protecting the interests of a client who was embroiled in a complex corporate dispute that rapidly devolved into litigation. The dispute received media attention throughout the state and when the case finally settled during mediation, Mr. Berg’s client was placed in a much better position than when the dispute began.
Currently, Mr. Berg is defending clients in all courts throughout the State of Tennessee and he is indeed a valuable member of the firm’s defense litigation and appellate team.
